A daughter of a crazy mother and a hard working stepfather, a sister, the oldest of five, a small leaf on my family's wide spread tree, mixed into a blended family of cousins galore from southern to sophisticated.
A friend to many that are old or young and shy or outgoing, advice giver and taker, a listener and speaker, a defender and a peacemaker, a student of caring teachers who is ready to drink up all of the wisdom they have to offer, a young performer under the direction of an inspiring director who aspires to make it to Broadway against her mother's will.
A girlfriend going steady with the same person I have adored for almost a year and a half and will continue to be infatuated with until my hair turns grey and my teeth fall out, a hopeless romantic always trying to surprise him with creative little gifts, a secret veil of insecurity that he may tire of me since I am younger, a sigh of relief more like a gust of wind knowing that he is a child at heart.
Warm things of all kinds, hot tea green or fruity, hot coffe black or with cream, hot chocolate with big marshmallows not whipped cream, whether the weather permits it or not, warm stoves and ovens I love to cook and fill my stomach and teh tummies of others with warm foods, warm candles in autumn with warm homey spicy smells, warm blankets on my cold feet, warm sweaters that devour my skinny body, warm sun on my freckly face, warm showers that last so long that the steam makes our fire alarms go off, warm camp fires with warm gooey s'mores in the summer or winter, warm belly of my beagle on my lap, warm little bodies of my restless brothers and sister who climb up into my bed, warm spotlight on my heavily made up face and my extra warm body in a not so comfortable costume, but most of all warm hearted people who fill my days with warm hearted smiles and their warm hearted ways.
Pink and glitter, fluffy and girly, smiley and colorful, feminine and lacy, cozy and sweet, wardrobe from dresses and sparkly shoes to sweaters and knit boots, lady like and elegant but not afraid to be my eccentric self, the love of bonding with girlfriends but intrigued by the conversations of my male friends.
An early bird and a night owl, a bird watcher and admirer, someone who cares way too much and yet not at all about what others think of me, a woman of faith, a child of God, a believer of miracles, a nonbeliever of coincidences.
Health concious, a sweet tooth for ice cream, a sweet tooth for fruit, knowledge about what my body needs and how it functions, unsure of my appearance until I step onto a stage.
Pale freckly skin, all skin and bone, all legs, long fingers and toes, big lips, almond shaped blue grey eyes, jealous of my sister's large saucer sized blue eyes.
A loud singing voice, a loud laugh, a vast imagination, a yearning to be bilingual and to let my second language take me across the globe, a small town girl who appreciates the little things and would rather be on a horse than in a cab.
Seventeen years young, trying to make decisions, nervous for my boyfriend to go back to school, trying to set an example for my sibilngs, giving others advice I should be following, learning something new everyday, trying to make a difference in someone's life before I pass on, missing my aunt who has passed on, curious about what this year will bring me, hopeful to make new friends and strengthen the bonds of old ones, discover who I am, be myself, Kayla.

We've missed you in class these last couple of days, Kayla! Hope your work with the production went well. This piece really captures what a multi-faceted and interesting person you are. How lucky you are to have such a wide family tree that supports and inspires you. Many of the loves you listed are things I enjoy and appreciate as well. Thanks for creating a second blog for our class. You are a great writer and I look forward to seeing more of your work.
