Walk in the Woods

Deep in the woods as the nigh draws near
As the sun goes down and the moon gives a sneer
There are many curious things that may perk up your ear
Deliberately digging down to your deepest fear

Perhaps you're not a fan of arachnids
And you're feeling the sensation of legs on your back
Unless of course that's only the brush of poisonous twigs
Or the gust of wind of wings of giant hairy bats

Deep in the woods as the nigh draws close
You may encounter an entity or ghost
You want to watch your step when your soul's at stake
Or the gooey scaly claws will grab and drag you in the lake

Deep in the woods as the morning starts
The light of day embraces your frantic beating heart
Now you wish that you had stayed put in your bed
But be thankful that at least you didn't lose your head
